about the seventh annual tri lincoln

Nestled between Rhode Island Routes 146 and 123, Lincoln Woods State Park is one of the Blackstone Valley's biggest treasures. A short ride from Providence, Pawtucket, Cumberland and Central Falls, it is a popular get away for northeastern Rhode Islanders. Visitors can enjoy swimming at the fresh water beach, trout fishing, playing ball, hiking, jogging, horseback riding, or just relaxing under a shade tree. We are proud to announce that this year's Tri Lincoln will serve as the 2019 USA Triathlon Rhode Island High School State Championship!

RACE day registration

Race day registration will be offered starting at 6:30AM at the F.I.R.M. motorhome on the race site.

E-Mails will usually be sent Thursday prior to race with any specific race details.

All packet pick up will take place on race day. Your packet will contain your assigned timing chip, color coded swim cap and other goodies. Packets can be picked up outside the F.I.R.M. motorhome on the race site starting at 6:30AM.

Championchip chip timing system

F.I.R.M. employs the use of the ChampionChip chip timing system for all race timing at our events. All athletes will receive an assigned timing chip in each packet. This timing chip is F.I.R.M. property, and must be returned into the designated bin (marked with a chip return sign) upon crossing the finish line. Timing chips are NON-TRANSFERABLE; each chip is assigned to a specific athlete. Knowingly swapping timing chips with another athlete is a serious offense and can be punishable by suspension from all USA Triathlon sanctioned events for up to one year and/or suspension/expulsion from USA Triathlon membership.

Body marking

Per USA Triathlon rules, all athletes must have their body marked with their assigned Bib Number and Age, no exceptions. Body marking will take place next to packet pick up on race day starting at 6:30AM.

A pre-race athlete's meeting will be held at 7:45 AM at the swim start on the beach. Transition will close at this time, so please be ready!

Come to race, but stay for the festivities. Your triathlon experience includes DJ Magic Mike playing great music, yummy post race food/treats and sponsor giveaways. This is a family-friendly race venue with a playground near the beach and many outdoor attractions near the race site.

Some of the most commonly violated USA Triathlon rules are included below:

Transition Area: All athletes must use caution when entering and exiting the transition area to avoid injury to other athletes, volunteers and race staff. No glass containers are allowed in the transition area, and all equipment must be returned to your assigned rack space.

Drafting: There is no drafting on the bike course. Please consult USA Triathlon rules and regulations for more information on Drafting.

Course-Cutting: All competitors are required to follow the prescribed course and to stay within all coned lanes. Cutting the course is a serious violation and going outside the course is a safety issue. The punishment for course-cutting may include but is not limited to disqualification and/or the recall of awards from the event in question.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Foul, harsh, argumentative or abusive language or other unsportsmanlike conduct directed at race officials, USA Triathlon officials, volunteers, spectators or fellow athletes is forbidden. Headphones: Headphones, headsets, walkmans, ipods, mp3 players, or any and all other personal audio devices are not to be carried or worn at any time during the race.

Race numbers: All athletes are required to wear race numbers at all times during the run. Numbers must face the front and be clearly visible at all times. Numbers may not be cut or folded or altered in any way. DO NOT transfer your number to any other athlete or take a number from an athlete that is not competing. Knowingly swapping race numbers with another athlete is a serious offense and can be punishable by suspension from all USA Triathlon sanctioned events for up to one year and/or suspension/expulsion from USA Triathlon membership.

Wetsuits: Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wetsuit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wetsuit at their own discretion, however participants who wear a wetsuit within such temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Above 84 degrees, wetsuits are prohibited.
