On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the Jackson Police Spouses Association will be hosting its 2nd Sirens & Heroes 5K and 1-mile family walk/run at the Jackson Police Department in Jackson, Tennessee. Last year, we were elated to have 91 participants and we hope to surpass that number this year as we celebrate local first responders, the men and women who work selflessly around the clock to save lives, eradicate danger and mitigate losses.

Are YOU a first responder? We would love to see police, fire, and emergency medical personnel from all over West Tennessee in attendance. Feel free to run in full gear if you like (and if permitted by respective department). Even if you are not a first responder, this is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the sacrifices made daily by these brave men and women. So, come out, give a high five and say thank you to our local first responders.

Race Details

  • Race Day Registration: 7:30-8:30 AM
  • 5K and 1 Mile Family Walk/Fun: 9:00 AM
  • Awards Ceremony to Follow Race
  • Packet Pickup is November 2 from 4-6:30 PM at Planet Fitness, 57 Carriage House Drive

5K Entry Fees

  • Discounted First Responder Fee: $20
  • General (September 1-October 31): $30
  • Race Day: $35
  • Must pre-register by October 21 to guarantee an event shirt

1 Mile Entry Fee

  • General: $15

Age Groups

  • 11-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60 and over

A cash prize of $50 and a free registration to next year's race will be awarded to both the overall male and female winners. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 runners in all age groups for both male and female. Swag bags will be available to the first 100 participants and again, only participants who register by October 21st are guaranteed an event shirt. Post-race water and nutrition will be provided by Planet Fitness.

Registration Policies

  • There will be no refunds.
  • All participants must acknowledge the release form/liability waiver during registration.
  • Medals will not be awarded to participants under the age of 11.
  • The event organizers reserve the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions.

A Little Bit About Us

The Jackson Polices Spouses Association was incepted in December 2016 and we are a fund of the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation. We are composed of spouses, widows, and significant others of active and retired officers of the Jackson Police Department who, as a group, have bonded together to provide resources and emotional support to law enforcement families as well as to serve as a positive voice for law enforcement in the community. While affiliated with officers of the Jackson Police Department, first responders are at the forefront of our mission. It is our intention to provide financial assistance to the family of any first responder from the West Tennessee area who is injured or killed in the line of duty. All proceeds from this event will benefit our cause. We share a common bond as spouses of Jackson Police officers and just as our spouses selflessly give of themselves to this community, we want to do the same. We have a vested interest in supporting local first responders and the communities they serve.
