Race Judicata (The Run for Justice!) features a downtown east/west course designed with an eye towards serious runners, casual runners, walkers, and families.
It begins on the site voted best law school building in the US, passes by Memphis's most stately courthouses, circles around Victorian Village, affords panoramic downtown views from the Jefferson overpass on the return, enjoys a back stretch on Adams that passes a number of Memphis's most historically and architecturally significant buildings, and finishes behind the law school right on the promenade overlooking the Mississippi river.
Pre/post-race festivities will take place at both the Memphis Park and the Promenade.
There be plenty of hot food generously supplied by Bardog Tavern. Noted band The Risky Whiskey Boys will be playing live as part of their current tour. Our beer sponsor - Crosstown Brewing Company - is generously providing two free beers with your race entry. This freebie, pun intended, does include spirit runners!
There will be an appearance by the 501st Legion's Tennessee Garrison dressed in full Star Wars regalia.
Race Judicata benefits the Memphis Bar Association's Access to Justice program - which provides support and funding to non-profit organizations that offer free legal services to the elderly and low income families in Memphis.
Registration: $25 for 5K Runners (includes a custom bib, tech T-Shirt, two free beers, hot and cold food) up to midnight the Saturday before the race; $30 thereafter; and $20 for Spirit Runners.
Please don't forget your ID, which must be shown to get a wristband for the after party beer.
