The Open-water Catawba River Up and Down (O, CRUD) swim will provide funds for area high-school swim teams. Money from entry fees will be distributed to teams based upon the number of swimmers that participate per school. You will also be able to choose your donor school during registration. There will also be awards given to the first, second and third place high school relay teams for the 1.2 mile swim. (Relay times will be decided by taking the four fastest swim times for each team, 2 male and 2 female.)O, CRUD will have 3 distance options that all start and finish at the Riverside Marina in Belmont, NC. The 1.2 mile, 2.4 mile, and the 10k distances will all have an in-water treading mass start. Participants will cross the river, making a left turn to swim upstream for the first half of the chosen distance at which point they will make another left to swim back across the river before heading back downstream to the finish at the marina. Swimmers will exit the water via the boat ramp and cross the finish line on shore.
The 10k will start at 7am. The 2.4 swim will start at 7:15 and the 1.2 mile will start at 7:20.

Wetsuits are allowed, but if worn, participant will not be eligible for Age Group or Overall awards.
The 5k Run will start at 9:30am and consist of 1 loop starting and finishing in the marina's lower parking lot. A total of 140 feet of gain makes this a fairly flat route, and perfect for beginners, the whole family or a potential PR!!
Awards for the 1.2 mile swim will start at 8:30
Awards for the 2.4 mile swim will start prior to the 5k run awards at 10:30
Awards will start at 10:30 for the 5K run.
Awards for the 10k swim will start at 12pm
Awards will consist of Top 3 Overall male and female for each event, and age group awards for top 3 in each age group both male and female for each of the following age groups:
**10K Swim will have overall awards only**
