Start 2018 off with a bang! The Resolution Run events welcome families and participants of all ages to come run, walk or crawl their way to completing their first resolution! We are excited to add the Inaugural 10 mile event for endurance road runners that want to accomplish their first ten miles of the year on New Year's Day. Both events are timed with chip timing.
We are excited to partner again with the YMCA of Western North Carolina, iDream Athletes Foundation and the Western Carolina Rescue Ministries for the 2018 Resolution Run! As one of our 2018 Resolution Run Charity Partners, the Downtown Asheville YMCA will host our Pre-Event Packet-Pickup as well as be out and along the race course to keep you hydrated and energized! The WCRM will host a shoe drive at packet pickup and on race day. So BRING SHOES, BRING SHOES, BRING SHOES! Especially gently used or new tennis shoes! Tennis shoes seem to be the best, as the homeless population likes them, because they hold up for such a long period of time. The shoes that the WCRM receive during the Resolution Run event will go towards their annual "Foot Care Clinic".
Runners participating in the ten mile event will wind their way through the beautiful rolling neighborhoods in N. Asheville around the flat (and fast) Beaver Lake area and through downtown Asheville. Runners and Walkers participating in the 5k event will explore nearby downtown neighborhoods and experience the best of the Asheville City while completing their first 3.1 miles of the year.
Wish to commemorate completing your very first resolution of 2018? You are in luck, all 10 mile finishers will receive a complimentary commemorative, 2018 Resolution Run Finisher Medal. Participants in the 5k event have the option of purchasing a Finisher Award during online registration for $10. Deadline for 5k participants to purchase a commemorative award is December 1st at midnight.
