Come to race, but stay for the festivities. Your triathlon experience includes a DJ playing great music, yummy post race food/treats and sponsor giveaways. This is a family-friendly race venue with a playground on the site, an outdoor swimming pool for all ages and other amenities offered inside of the Wayside Athletic Club.
Please note that walkers will not be timed, and therefore will not be eligible for awards.
Male and Female age group divisions are employed for runners in this event. Those under 19 will be divided in five year increments, for example: Boys/Girls 11 to 15 years, etc. Those 20 and older will be divided in ten year increments, for example: Male/Female 30 to 39 years, etc. Age group is determined by age as of December 31, 2019.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group. A random award or two may be given out at the race director's discretion.
Proceeds from this race will benefit Thrive (formerly Greater Marlboro Programs) and their recreational programs and sports teams. Thrive is a dynamic nonprofit, empowering children and adults with developmental disabilities to lead rich, active, and self-directed lives. They currently serve over 500 children and adults in 31 Massachusetts communities, and they go above and beyond to focus on ability and help individuals find opportunities to shine. Thrive proudly helps create lives filled with happiness, meaning and pride.
This race is run in memory of Jim Forrest, a Marlborough community leader who was very active in town recreation and politics. Jim served as City Councilor for over twenty years, helped found the Marlborough Boys & Girls Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the Marlborough Recreation Department – all while raising his nine children.
Thrive’s recreation and sports programs depend upon your support to continue. Team registration, colorful themes and clothing are all encouraged, however, if you are not able to make the race, donations are also greatly appreciated. Register now and join us on September 22, 2019 or donate at www.icanthrive.org, and find your moment to shine!
