Join us for our 31st Annual Blue Ridge Brutal, August 21, 2021
New routes were introduced in 2017. Safer roads, better scenery but still JUST AS BRUTAL. Our riders love the new routes!
Not for the faint hearted. One of the most challenging road bike rides in the spectacular mountains of North Carolina with 55, 72 and 102 mile options. For those who are up for it, there’s also the optional Assault on Mount Jefferson - about 1500 ft. of elevation gain over 3.1 miles. All rides take you on to the Blue Ridge Parkway for over 21 glorious miles. Every year we are told by many experienced riders this is the best ride they have participated in. Needless to say, there’s excellent SAG support, ample rest stops, food and beer at the end as well as your own free BRB beer glass and BRB rider memento to take home with you.
Assault on Mt Jefferson
Entry for this additional 3.1 mile challenge is limited to only 50 riders and is not for the faint hearted. The elevation gain is almost 1,454 feet which, although never classified, makes this ride very comparable to a Category 2 climb. Those who attempt this at the end of completing their main ride will be provided transport back to the Finish point. Riders are not permitted to cycle back down – sorry!!
