Blood Sweat and Gears, aka BSG, celebrates 21 years on June 22, 2019. From humble beginnings, BSG has grown into the North Carolina High Country’s premier cycling event offering incredibly scenic views, epic climbs and some of the best cycling that North Carolina has to offer.

BSG offers cyclists a choice of two challenging rides. The 95 mile ride includes the famous Snake Mountain climb while the 45 mile ride showcases area favorites like Georges Gap. The ride begins and ends in the historic Valle Crucis area, home of the original Mast General Store, and showcases the mountain communities of Watauga and Ashe counties. Both routes are fully supported with aid stations and SAG support.

Blood Sweat and Gears is planned and executed by BSG Events, Inc. BSG Events is a fund raising non-profit. Net proceeds from the ride are donated to local charities in the High Country.
