Join one of the most fun races and after-race-parties in MA!
Thrive’s 33rd Annual Forrest Memorial Road Race, a 3.2 mile run/walk/roll and great family event, will be held on Sunday September 24, 2017 in Marlborough. Starting at Wayside Athletic Club, the course loops through gently rolling terrain, concluding at Wayside Athletic Club with a BBQ and party for all race participants and the entire Thrive community.
Proceeds will benefit Thrive’s (formerly known as Greater Marlboro Programs.) recreational programs and sports teams. Thrive is a dynamic nonprofit empowering children and adults with developmental disabilities to lead rich, active, and self-directed lives. We currently serve over 500 children and adults in 31 Massachusetts communities. We go above and beyond to focus on ability and help individuals find opportunities to shine. Thrive proudly helps create lives filled with happiness, meaning and pride.
The race is run in memory of Jim Forrest, a Marlborough community leader who was very active in town recreation and politics. Jim served as City Councilor for over twenty years, helped found the Marlborough Boys & Girls Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the Marlborough Recreation Department – all while raising his nine children.
Thrive’s recreation and sports programs depend upon your support to continue. Team registration, colorful themes and clothing are all encouraged. Register now, join us on September 24, 2017 and find your moment to shine!
