The legend of Spiderman teaches us that, “with great power comes great responsibility!” True Superheroes choose to make a difference! You are invited to flex your “SUPERPOWERS” and join the Dawson County Community to make a tremendous difference in the lives of the students, ages 5 to 25, that participate in the Dawson County Wrestling Program.
There are many evils that would steal our student’s opportunities, but “FUNDING” is a SUPERVILLAIN we can defeat together. To quote the movie Wonder Woman, “YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOU BELIEVE. YOU HAVE GREATER POWERS THAN YOU KNOW.” Join our inaugural 5k and 1 mile run/ walk to support young athletes in Dawson County!
On Saturday, September 9th, the Dawson County Wrestling Program is hosting a 5k (with a 1-mile option.) WALKERS are welcome! This is a fundraiser to help the wrestling program purchase much-needed equipment and to help fund both the High School and Middle School programs for the 2017 - 2018 season. The cost is $25.00 per runner and each runner will receive a custom logo t-shirt and a finisher medal. In addition to the cool swag, each participant will be asked to choose a school upon registering. The schools with the most support will win a $500.00 cash prize! All four of our elementary schools will compete against one another to see who can register the most participants. Our amazing elementary schools are Black’s Mill Elementary, Kilough Elementary, River View Elementary, and Robinson Elementary. The High School, Junior High, and Middle School will compete head to head for the most support with a $500.00 cash prize going to the cross country team of the victor! Join us and support your school! Support your TEAM!
To make the event a little more fun, this road race is an optional costume run! We are emphasizing hero costumes, but we welcome any family friendly costume you might dare to wear! We want this event to have a party atmosphere (a COSTUME party atmosphere!)
DC’s MARVELOUS 5K: where costumes are optional, but character is not!
